The dyke rings will be done in about a week. Aires Pistons had a couple of machines go down, however Jason, the fellow who runs the mc section promised me that my pistons are next. By the way he's trying to get the boss to give full sponsorship on them. Hope that works out. I should have them in about 2 1/2 weeks. Had to get a liner made by L.A. Sleeve. When the front piston cooked it warped the sleeve at the bottom a full sixteen thousandths. I should get the liner in about a week and a half. The blower arrived on the 7th of this month. I called about the status. Disappointing news. Due to the fact that the racing season has started the shop is back logged and blower repair work coming in is 5 to 15 days before they even open the box, however they did say that it only takes a couple of days after they start work assuming the anodised work gets back to the shop in a timely manner. If new lobes are required, which they probably will be, they'll have to be anodised. The blower drive is done. I'm working now on the frame modifications which are pretty extensive. Also the new fuel tank is in progress. Changing it from a five gallon capacity to a seven gallon capacity in case nitro methane is needed to make the horsepower required. I'm finally getting around to getting those pictures of the engines off. Mailed forty yesterday, a couple of hundred more to go. If, and it's a big "if" things work out and the liner is finished, and the dyno tests are successful, I intend to try to make the North American Rally. As I understand it non VOC members are welcome. I've tried unsuccessfully to pull up the entry form from thevincent.com. Who do I contact to get an entry form? |
